Maine Gay marriage law takes effect Dec. 29, 2012
According to WMTW News 8 Maine's new same-sex marriage law is going into effect on Dec. 29. Governor Paul LePage signed off on the certified election results on Nov. 29 and it goes into effect 30 days from that date. Many cities and towns are considering special hours because the date falls on a Saturday and the following Monday will be a holiday.
