Residential Housing Headaches Handled by Housing Court in Massachusetts

Besides landlord-tenant disputes, Massachusetts Housing Court has jurisdiction over residential issues regarding small claims, breach of contract, property damage, discrimination, and even zoning.

Court staff will not give legal advice, but will answer questions and help fill out forms. Housing Specialists mediate so parties come to a satisfactory agreement without a Judge making the final decision.

Housing Court Forms may be filled in, saved and printed.

The court in your county may have a Lawyer for the Day program to assist self-represented litigants with legal questions. Don't forget that the Massachusetts Trial Court Law Libraries are also here to help.

As of April of this year, Massachusetts Housing Court Cases are searchable on  http://www.masscourts.org.
