New Light Bulb Law Changes
The federal government's new
lighting standards took effect on January 1st. To make light bulbs more efficient and reduce the amount of energy needed the recent change requires old style 40 and 60 watt bulbs to be phased out forcing consumers to buy a more efficient form of lighting. Part of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, the intent is to
improve energy and move the United States toward a greater energy independence and to increase
the production of clean renewable fuels.
