New Registered Sex Offender Smartphone App

In a press release dated May 7, 2014, Ping4Inc. announced a new ping4alerts! mobile safety app, featuring a map-based screen, that can help you locate where sex offenders live in proximity to your school, home or place of work.

In addition, the safety app allows users to view the sex offenders' names, physical description, photograph, qualifying offenses, and criminal records.

"This information is readily available on government websites," said Norm Archer, VP of Marketing. "Our mission is to provide relevant, timely information and to let users take action to protect themselves, particularly children."

Users are alerted of only Level 2 and Level 3 sex offenders depending on each state's registry.  For your convenience, here is a link to the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board.

"This new feature pins the addresses of registered sex offenders on an interactive map and lets users click on the pins to see each offender's photo and past crimes.  by making this public information incredibly easy for anyone to access on his or her mobile device. Ping4 Inc. hopes to make the public a little bit safer and reduce the incidence of sexual assaults one informed citizen at a times," Archer said.

The mobile app is available on IOS and Android platforms. "Ping4 Inc. protects user anonymity and does not require users to provide any personally identifiable information such as phone number, street address or email address."

Ping4 Inc. plans to add more public safety content on its map-driven interface, such as historical crime data (break-ins, thefts, and assaults) and predictive crime data-where crime is most likely to happen.
