CORI, CARI what is the difference?

We often hear about getting one's Criminal Offender Record Information, commonly know as CORI. When you are looking for a job, looking for an apartment, or adopting a child, having a CORI check done is usually part of the process. This is why there has been a lot written on the subject. But what is a CARI? The Court Activity Record Information, or CARI is one method used by the Probate courts to manage records; the other is the Warrant Management System, or WMS.  CARI includes Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI), juvenile records, and restraining order information. Unlike a CORI, a CARI is not available to the general public, it can only be seen by the opposing party under strict guidelines. See Standing Order 1-11. For more information about a CARI, look here.
