New book on mediation in Massachusetts
The first edition of a book entitled Mediation: A Practice Guide for Mediators, Lawyers and Other Professionals was recently released. This is a comprehensive guide on mediation aimed at practitioners in Massachusetts. In the preface, the chief author, David A. Hoffman, points out that the use of mediation has become more wide spread in the legal field. "Most of the book addresses the question of how to mediate, as well as some of the legal, ethical, and practical aspects of practicing as a mediator." There are several appendices containing relevant statutes, rules, model standards, ethic opinions and sample agreements. Another useful feature is the additional references and resources which gives the reader many other sources to consult on the topic.
